EXPERIENCED HARDSCAPE INSTALLERS WANTED
Build Quality Landscape Construction Projects
This is not an entry-level landscaping position.
We're looking for an experienced landscape construction professional who understands that a quality hardscape installation starts below the finished surface.
You should understand how excavation, subgrade preparation, aggregate base, compaction, elevations, drainage, bedding material, layout and finishing all work together to produce a properly constructed project.
You don't need to be a Foreman or manage an entire crew.
You do need real landscape construction experience and the ability to contribute productively on a professional installation crew.

COMPENSATION
Earn $28–$35 Per Hour Based on Experience & Ability
Your starting wage will depend on your hands-on experience, technical ability, productivity and the amount of work you can complete independently.
$28–$35/HOUR
Candidates toward the higher end of the compensation range should be capable of several of the following:
• Completing professional paver installations
• Establishing grades and elevations
• Preparing and compacting aggregate bases
• Screeding bedding material accurately
• Producing clean and accurate paver cuts
• Installing borders and edge restraints
• Building Allan Block or segmental retaining walls
• Understanding drainage and slope
• Operating mini excavators and skid steers
• Reading basic landscape plans
• Working efficiently with minimal supervision
• Helping guide less-experienced crew members
• Driving trucks and equipment trailers

Experienced Paver Installers Wanted
Terraform installs paver patios, walkways, driveways and other hardscape projects throughout Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley.
We're looking for installers who understand that professional paver installation starts long before the first paver is laid.

RETAINING WALL INSTALLATION
Allan Block & Segmental Retaining Wall Experience
Experience building Allan Block or other segmental retaining wall systems is a major asset.
Applicants with retaining wall experience may have experience with:
• Excavation
• Base preparation
• Compaction
• Establishing a level first course
• Drainage rock
• Drainage pipe
• Geogrid where specified
• Block installation
• Cutting retaining wall blocks
• Maintaining grades and elevations
• Installing caps
• Backfilling
• Final grading and cleanup
We want installers who understand that a retaining wall needs to be built properly from the base up, not simply made to look good when it's finished.
GRADING, ELEVATIONS & DRAINAGE
Understand How Water Moves
Proper grading and drainage are critical parts of landscape and hardscape construction.
Experienced applicants may have experience with:
• Establishing finished elevations
• Using laser levels
• Using string lines and levels
• Calculating slope and rise-over-run
• Maintaining positive drainage
• Establishing benchmarks
• Transferring elevations across a project
• Grading aggregate bases
• Preparing areas for pavers and retaining walls
• Reading grades from landscape plans
Understanding where water will go after a project is finished is an important part of producing professional landscape construction work.
HARDSCAPE LAYOUT & ACCURATE CUTTING

Good hardscape work should look intentional and professionally finished.
We're particularly interested in applicants who understand:
• Establishing straight layout lines
• Creating consistent curves
• Using the 3-4-5 method to establish square layouts
• Maintaining consistent paver joints
• Measuring before cutting
• Planning cuts before installation
• Making clean straight cuts
• Making accurate curved cuts
• Using concrete saws and grinders safely
• Maintaining consistent borders
• Finishing around structures, drains and obstacles

Equipment Operators Are a Major Asset
Experience operating landscape construction equipment isn't required for every applicant, but it can significantly increase your value to our construction team.
We're particularly interested in applicants with experience safely operating:
• Mini excavators
• Skid steers
• Plate compactors
• Jumping jacks
• Cut-off saws
• Concrete and paver saws
• Grinders
• Laser levels

You should understand how to operate equipment safely around crew members, buildings, finished surfaces and active job sites.
DRIVER & TRAILER EXPERIENCE
Valid Driver's Licence Preferred
A valid driver's licence is strongly preferred for this position.

• Driving pickup trucks
• Driving larger work trucks

• Connecting trailers correctly
• Loading and unloading equipment
